Sportive

Bourne Wheelers hosted a Sportive on Saturday August 31st 2019.

For the first time it was incorporated in to the Bourne CiCLE Festival, a weekend-long event that takes place in Bourne with men’s and women’s road races, a women’s team time trial and much more.

You are invited to come along to the next event and ride the picturesque lanes of Lincolnshire, taking in many of the roads on which the elite riders will race later in the weekend. The undoubted highlight though will be when you swing off the public road and on to the private roads of Grimsthorpe Estate, taking in four and half miles of traffic free, historic parkland with spectacular views of the lake and the castle. The ride will culminate in Bourne town centre, passing under the race finish gantry. Why not perfect your sprint finish to the line!

There are 3 distances to choose from; 54 miles, 69 miles and 86 miles. So whether you’re new to the world of sportive’s or fancy more of a challenge there is something for everyone.

All routes are on roads with feed stations and are suitable for a variety of abilities. Race packs with more information will be sent out to all entrants nearer the time.

Entries can be made through British Cycling in due course.
